The area has highly varied fishing with large char in the Ransarån river, giant trout in the Saxån river, which has the character of a limestone stream, and trout and char of various sizes in the Kultsjöån, Satsån and Marsån rivers. Several fishing permits may be needed, but we recommend the use of the State permit.
Trout and char predominate. The char are particularly large, and more than 100 fish between 1 and 3 kg are caught every year. Trout of around 3 kg are caught every year and fish around the 1 kg mark are not at all unusual.
Late June to late August.
We recommend fly-fishing for the char, but spinning can also produce good results with the large trout. Class 4-6 fly-fishing equipment is recommended, with a 9.5 ft rod and floating line. Nymphs are often used for fly-fishing, as well as caddis fly pupae and shrimps. Waders are recommended.
